How to Replace the Inflation Valve with a Pressure Gauge on Your Paddle Board

Jun 21, 2025
Some early-release Niphean NP-PRO Series paddle boards were shipped with an additional inflation valve in place of the pressure gauge. Your paddle board remains fully functional. A replacement gauge will be shipped to you free of charge.
Why Was the Gauge Not Installed?
During final inspections, a batch of pressure gauges did not pass Niphean’s strict quality control testing. To ensure shipping timelines, we temporarily installed a second inflation valve in the location reserved for the pressure gauge.
🔧 How to Replace the Valve with a Pressure Gauge
Part 1: Removing the Air Valve
- Prepare an octagonal wrench and an electronic air pressure gauge.
- Inflate the paddleboard to 3 psi.
- Open the rear air valve knob.
- Insert the octagonal wrench.Use your other hand to press down on the top of the wrench.Turn counterclockwise to loosen the valve base.
- While deflating the board, press down firmly around the valve with both hands, until the area collapses and the valve base reaches the bottom.
- Use one hand to hold the valve base firmly in place to prevent movement, while unscrewing the valve base to remove the valve.
Note:Do not release your hand from the valve base area.Keep it pressed in place until the pressure gauge is fully installed.
Part 2: Installing the Air Pressure Gauge
- Take the electronic air pressure gauge.Insert the threaded end into the valve hole and screw it in steadily until snug.
- When hand-tightening is no longer possible, use the octagonal wrench to turn clockwise and secure it.
- Open the front air valve.Insert the air pump hose.Inflate to 3 psi until the board begins to bulge.Use the wrench to gently tighten once more. The installation is now complete.
Part 3: Test the replacement results
- Prepare soapy water and stir or shake until foam appears.
- Sprinkle the soapy water with foam around the electronic air pressure valve until it covers the surrounding seams.
- Check whether there are bubbles coming out from the electronic air pressure valve.
- If bubbles are generated, it may be that the electronic air pressure valve is not tightened. You can continue to tighten it with an octagonal wrench.
- After the test, wipe off the soapy water with a soft cloth or rinse with clean water.
